Leslie D. Almberg is a Ph.D. candidate in Geology, with a concentration in Volcanology, at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Her research interests are focused on conduit degassing and crystallization processes in dome-forming silicic volcanic systems, specifically within Unzen volcano, Kyushu, Japan, Bezymianny, Kamchatka, Russia, and Mt St Helens, WA, USA. In addition to her scientific research, Ms. Almberg is involved in science outreach and education in local K-12 classrooms, and international collaborative projects. This web site is an outgrowth of her work as an NSF GK-12 Fellow through the 2005-'06 TASK program.

Dr. Anupma Prakash is an Associate Professor in remote sensing geophysics carrying out research on Arctic processes at the Geophysical Institute, University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). She teaches postsecondary courses in remote sensing and GIS at the Department of Geology and Geophysics, UAF. She is also funded by the NASA ESSE21 program, NSF GeoEd program, Alaska Space Grant Program, and State industries. Dr Prakash is involved conducting teachers training, K12 and post secondary curriculum development, and making science data and research results accessible to all audiences.
